I already sorta recapped the vibe of the show in the first post, so I won’t add too much here. It was a late night, a rowdy night, a great night. I felt like I had been waiting to see Ryan Bingham for years, but really it had only been a few months since I first heard of him.
Also, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the dude downstairs who kept yelling out requests. At the time I didn’t appreciate him much, but looking back… Gracias, brother. You requested some good stuff.

Ryan Bingham and The Dead Horses @ The Hotel Utah, San Francisco, May 8, 2009.
Last night I heard some of the best rock n’ roll (alt country? roadhouse music?) I’ve ever had the chance to hear. These guys are just F@#*ING AWESOME.
Everything was better live. That’s hard to believe since the albums are so great, but it’s true.
They started around midnight and played about 2 hours.
The place was destroyed when they were done. Broken glass everywhere and a sea of spilled beer on the floor that soaked the bottoms of our pants. Good times.
I recorded the show, and I think it came out okay. I’m going to try to fix it up a bit and I’ll be posting it in the next month or so, so stay tuned.
Well, finally twitter gave me some useful information! Who would have thunk it?
The news: Ryan Bingham’s new album, Road House Sun is streaming HERE.
The album is due to be released 6/02/09.
I haven’t even listened to the whole thing yet, but I like it so far. I’m listening to “Day is Done” right now and it rocks. Love.
ETA: Ok, I’ve listened to it all once now. and based on that limited listen I will say….I like it. Maybe even love it. I just can’t get enough of this guy’s music.
